Aura Karwendel is a truly spectacular apartment! Weve stayed in 25+ apartments in Europe over the last year or so, and this one is our new favorite.

Kitchen -- lots of counter space, dishes of all kinds, sharp knives (best anywhere!), lots of cookware. The only thing missing was a microwave, which would have helped for heating leftovers, warming coffee, etc.

Living room -- very cozy, fireplace easy to use and warms the apartment nicely

Dining area -- convenient, beautiful view

Bedrooms/bathrooms -- spacious, good storage for clothing, shower wonderful

Extras -- lighting and outlets were great!

Location -- its fine ... on a two-lane street that runs through Scharnitz, across from a school (cute to watch kids build snowmen!) and gas station (detracted a bit from the feeling of being out in nature). Easy to walk to the convenience store, bakery, train station.

Service -- spectacular! Easy check-in, charcuterie plate and bottle of wine (plus sundry other foods) greeted us after a long day traveling. Ines was amazingly responsive (quick and comprehensive) before and during our stay -- our sincere thanks!!

Things to do -- fantastic! In 9 days, we took 5 long hikes, 3 bike rides, 3 cross-country ski outings (would have done more, but sadly no snow). Highly recommend seefeld.com for information. One note -- we were going to hike to one of the huts that was listed as open in winter, but fortunately called to find out that its only open on weekends.
